Country Isles Elementary School in Weston, Florida is a truly a unique public school. First, it is the oldest school in one of the newest cities in Broward County, so it led the pace for that town's schools. Second, it is an A-rated school which has the most diverse student body out of all the public schools in Weston. Third, it celebrates its diversity by having a family multi-cultural night every quarter that spotlights four or five cultures through food, dance, music, and literature. But the most impressive news about the school, which holds its mission to be "to educate responsible citizens" is that each November, the entire school, led by its super-strong PTA, throws a Harvest Drive which feeds more than 250 needy families for one week through Thanksgiving, and includes donations of toys, clothes, household goods and bicycles.
